The Lebanese Psychological Association held the second advanced level workshop on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) which was conducted by Dr. Lilian Dindo.
Dr. Dindo is an Assistant Professor at the Baylor College of Medicine. Her interests are in developing “ innovative and pragmatic psychotherapeutic interventions aimed at improving the mental health and functioning of patients with chronic health problems – with a particular focus on acceptance and commitment therapy as the treatment approach. She is also interested in identifying the psychological mechanisms of action in effective treatments.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy is an empirically based psychological treatment that focuses on acceptance and mindfulness in addition to commitment and behavioral changes aimed at increasing psychological flexibility to cope with chronic illnesses.
